Managing Business Growth for Profitability and Sanity

Fred Reikowsky, Principal, Legacy Business Leaders

CEUs: .1

What You Will Learn

Managing a growing business can take business owners in the kitchen and bath industry to the very limits of their personal, emotional, and financial resources and beyond. That’s when a business often takes on a life of its own and spirals out of control. The good news is there are proven systems and strategies that can be learned and implemented to take back control and, ultimately, reap consistent, predictable financial rewards. The real challenge lies in knowing your enemy, facing the facts and taking disciplined action. To conquer that challenge requires understanding the three main obstacles to business growth and success that every company faces at one time or another. Confusion, inconsistent results, conflict and lack of profitability can all be tracked back to one or more of these common components. Dealing with them effectively will change how you do business and set your company on a course for long-term profitability.

Learning Objectives

  • Building an infrastructure that can withstand the weight (and chaos) of business growth.
  • Fostering a culture of independent, proactive thinkers focused on a compelling common cause.
  • Systemizing everything in your business to run without you.

Transitional Design Style

When:

December 6, 2023

Presenter:

Paula Kennedy, CMKBD, Founder & Designer, Timeless Kitchen Design

CEUs: .1
What You Will Learn

While looking at design sometimes we wonder – is it contemporary, is it traditional, or is it transitional? The struggle is real in our industry. If you ask ten designers, you may get ten different answers. Transitional design style is the often-misunderstood middle child. However, it is a huge category and could also be called the catch-all category. Paula teaches interior design students that there are three overarching categories and then dive into the subcategories underneath each.

During this session, Paula Kennedy, CMKBD, will explore features, elements of design, principles of design, materials and details that make up transitional design. By comparing with other participants, you’ll learn how to easily identify your client’s style and how the architecture of the residence plays a part as well. If you’ve never been able to define it when asked by your clients, you’ll leave this webinar with a much greater understanding, and we hope, a new appreciation for this legitimate design category.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to define the three design categories (contemporary, traditional, and transitional).
  • Recognize and identify transitional design style.
  • Discuss the categories, products, and design implications.

What You Will Learn

Do you ant to avoid last-minute remodeling nightmares that come when your new kitchen is nearly complete but the new fridge, range, or dishwasher won’t actually fit?

In this interview-style session expert appliance installer Damian Konasiewicz, CEO of Damian John Installations, will share what he’s learned over 25 years of appliance install experience to better equip *you* to specify the right kitchen appliances, read the specs, and carefully manage your cabinet makers so they get the cabinet openings right *the first time* – no matter what brand of appliances you specify. Armed with just a little more information you can avoid ending up with openings that are too small, exhaust fans that can’t be vented, gas lines that need to be rerouted, and other remodeling horror stories.
By the end of this session you might just know more about appliance selection than your appliance salespeople!

The interview will be led by Rebecca West of Seriously Happy Homes, and advance questions can be submitted to her at rebecca@seriouslyhappy.com. If you have a question about a specific appliance, be sure to include the brand and model number for the most accurate answers to your questions!

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn what kinds of questions to ask, and what to pay attention to, when choosing appliances based on site conditions within, above, below, and next to the space you’re remodeling.
  • Understand how to read the specs to make sure appliances will both fit in the opening and function properly.
  • Get familiar with how code, and code updates, can *really* complicate an appliance install – especially when trying to replace like-and-kind but not doing a whole home remodel.
